May 10, 2005 · No Comments

A big thanks go out to Scottish JRun User Group manager Duncan Jack, who today confirmed that we'll have a copy of MagicDraw UML Enterprise to give away at Scotch on the Rocks! That's $1,599 worth of software alone! Also, we're running for a few days only a Refer-a-Developer scheme whereby those who already have their tickets for the event can blag themselves a £10 voucher for either Amazon.co.uk or CD-WOW.com simply by getting a fellow developer to sign up for the event. Once signed up, the new attendee simply needs to email myself quoting me a name, and a voucher will find it's way into not only the referers goodie bag, but also the new signups! It's a bargain I tell ya!

Scotch on the Rocks Agenda

May 06, 2005 · No Comments

With the agenda for Scotch on the Rocks 100% confirmed, I think we've got a nice bunch of topics to cover the vast majority of the new features of CFMX7 that everyone wants to know about. We've also got a Flex talk (from Steven Webster of iteration::two) and a UML talk (from Duncan Jack of the Scottish JRun User Group) to add just a little variety to it. As for myself, I'm covering Multiple Instances and Clustering where I'll be doing a CFMX6.1 vs CFMX7 comparison. I'll also be covering all the little things in CFMX7 that haven't had the same sort of exposure as say Reporting, or Flash forms, etc. And of course for those attending you've got the chance to heckle Snr CF Product Manager, Tim Buntel about everything and anything :)

So far our sponsors list is as so: A big thank you to all the sponsors, as without you Scotch on the Rocks wouldn't be happening. And for those who will be attending here's a rundown of what's up for grabs, bearing in mind everyone who attends will get a goodie bag with bits and bobs and one free gift.
