Fuzzy Orange are now an official reseller of ColdFusion
January 14, 2008 · No Comments
We (Fuzzy Orange) are advancing in our steps towards world domination - I really have been watching too much Pinky and the Brain - and I'm delighted to say that Fuzzy Orange are now an Adobe reseller.
Our primary role in regards the reseller world is of course ColdFusion, and this latest step now allows us to provide every level when delivering Application development and consultancy.
Fuzzy Orange can now provide ColdFusion itself, the consultancy, training and finally, support.
We feel this is a really important step for our existing clients, and every other company using ColdFusion here in the UK.
You can now obtain your ColdFusion licenses from a source that actually know what they're talking about, rather than 3rd parties that simply sell software without knowing anything about it.
Anyway, we will shortly be releasing some new content on the Fuzzy Orange website detailing more information on what this means for our customers, and also for those just interested in purchasing ColdFusion, and how you can go about it.
It's been a good start to the year so far.

Getting Back to Work
January 04, 2008 · 3 Comment s
While I don't officially go back to work until Monday - being the boss is good - I've got some stuff to do for Monday and finally decided to pop the laptop open today. Aside from catching up on a billion emails - seriously, don't people take time off at Christmas???? - I thought I'd get my first blog post of 2008 out of the way.
I'll start by doing a quick coverage of 2007.
2007 started with yours truly finally deciding it was time to bite the bullet and go full time with Fuzzy Orange, a company I originally started back in 2005. The first "proper" year has been extremely successful, and a lot of that success was down to Scotch on the Rocks. Scotch didn't make us money, that wasn't the idea. However, it did bring us a lot of business afterwards, and that's where we reap our reward. The conference is about the community.
Of course, I could wax lyrical about Scotch for hours, but I'd suggest listening to the podcast I did for ColdFusion Weekly to get a good feel for the conference.
Building contacts, gaining clients and pushing the company was the goal of the first year and I think we've achieved that. We also managed to push out the door some ColdFusion Administration training courses, and of course the SOTR invasion of MAX Europe in Barcelona. Aside from my presentation on ColdFusion Server Monitoring and Troubleshooting (and going head to head with Sean Corfield, Ben Forta and Ted Patrick), we also managed to get quite a few speakers, delegates and Adobe staff to wear Scotch 2008 promotional t-shirts.
Oh yes, how can I forgot the infamous 4 starter dinner courtesey of Adobe! Thanks for that Kristen!!! :)
Goals for 2008 are simple. Build on the success of 2007, expand the company, and make Scotch on the Rocks the European conference for all things ColdFusion.... easy eh.

Fuzzy Orange Ltd - Consultancy
February 20, 2007 · 6 Comment s
As of a week tomorrow, I leave my current post as Senior Developer at Learning Assistant.
I have been toying with the idea for some time, even before I took my current role, of going out on my own and with recently becoming an Adobe Certified Instructor I decided there was no better time than to finally unleash Fuzzy Orange Ltd onto an unsuspecting world.
I actually started the company in the summer of 2005, but it's only now that things have come together.
Fuzzy Orange will provide the following consultancy services:
- ColdFusion Development (inc ModelGlue, Fusebox, Coldspring, Reactor, etc)
- ColdFusion Training (offical and custom courses)
- ColdFusion/JRun Troubleshooting and Optimisation
- Subversion/Trac Training and Mentoring
- ColdFusion hosting solutions via Firstserv.com
- Whisky tasting
