Searching to the MAX

June 22, 2010 · No Comments

Well, it looks like another trip to Los Angeles for me this October. The Adobe MAX conference has unleashed it's scheduler app, with full details of all the sessions and labs taking place over the MAX week.

I've been chosen, along with my fellow Fuzzy Orange cohort Matt Gifford, to give a lab on "Search Made Easy: Full-Text Document Search with ColdFusion".

We'll be getting hands on showing you how to set up and configure ColdFusion and Solr, detailing some of the advantages over Verity, how to build and manage collections and finally, how to put together a really slick search interface.

We've got something special planned for this lab, which is just as well as we've been put on at 8.30am on the Wednesday morning. And Tuesday night will be the big party. I got "stuck" with the same slot last year, but for those who attended, they'll remember that it was standing room only (might have been something to do with the single malt whisky I was giving away to everyone in the room).

Anyway, I'm absolutely delighted to be invited back, and this will be my third MAX conference, after Barcelona in 2007 and LA last year.

It's gonna rock!
